Thomson currently has two account systems - one for the website and CAD model downloads, and one for e-commerce. We understand that two logins is an inconvenience and are working to consolidate our systems into one login process. Until we’re able to consolidate the two logins, please follow these guidelines:
Gradeis a measure of the roundness or spherical deviation of the ball.
For example a ball with grade:
1000 has a spherical deviation of .001 and a lot diameter variation of +/- 0.001
5 has a spherical deviation of .000005 and a lot diameter variation of +/- 0.000005
The
lower the grade number the more round the ball is. This means that
grade 5 balls are a lot more round and the balls in a lot will be closer to the same diameter in size than those that are grade 1000.
Grade 5 balls will also be smoother balls than those that are grade
1000.
The grade that is needed is determined by
the application. Higher-precision applications will use a better-grade
(lower number) ball.
