Linear Actuator customization options

Thomson offers a broad range of standard electric linear actuators to suit many needs. We realize, though, that unique application parameters often dictate equally unique actuator configurations and modifications. Our actuators are designed with this in mind as many of our products can be readily customized to suit specific requirements.

Thomson electric actuators are built on modules that can be mixed and matched in final assembly. These operations are configured to provide flexible assembly to accommodate custom orders, quickly and cost effectively.

Our experienced engineers can assist you to ensure your part selection is right the first time, while our support staff oversees proper initial application and comprehensive support once installed.

Available Customization Options

Stroke and retracted length

  • Stroke lengths down to the millimeter
  • Pin-to-pin lengths to accommodate drop-in replacements

Control and feedback

  • Various stroke and speed feedback devices such as potentiometers and encoders
  • Control features for user-set current limits (force feedback) and speed control
  • Stroke feedback presets for existing controls (i.e. setting a potentiometer value at a certain stroke)
  • CAN bus baud rates and diagnostic messages
  • Wire harnesses and connectors

Certifications, Aesthetics and environmental customizations

  • Certifications to help meet your unique application requirements (CE, UL, etc.)
  • Stainless steel and corrosion-resistant finishes
  • Paint finishes (or no paint at all) on select models

Fitment and installation

  • Adapters
  • Housings to fit a custom envelope
  • Structural modification to lower weight or increase load handling capability and stiffness

Performance
